Best Ways to Redeem Marriott Bonvoy Points for Maximum Redemption Value

The best ways to get the most value from your points are:

  • Hotel stays: You can redeem points for free nights at Marriott properties worldwide. The number of points you need varies by hotel category and availability.
  • Fifth night free: When you redeem points for five consecutive nights, the fifth night is complimentary, meaning you can stretch your points further.
  • Exclusive experiences: You can use points for special experiences, such as special events or activities, through Marriott Bonvoy Moments.
  • Transfer to miles: You can redeem Marriott Bonvoy Points for airline miles by transferring them to partner airline programs. The standard transfer ratio is 3:1 for all airline partners apart from Air New Zealand AirPoint, which is 200:1. Additionally, you will also get a bonus of 5,000 miles for every 60,000 points you transfer. Note that you can only transfer 3,000 to 240,000 points a day.

Pro Tip: Using Marriott Bonvoy points, you can redeem them for your luxury stay at many different iconic Marriott or ITC properties in India.

For example,

  • Courtyard Agra charges about ₹6560 a night, which can be booked at just 13,000 points.
  • ITC Narmada, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Ahmedabad, charges about ₹11,875 a night, and you can use 50,000 points to redeem.
  • Marriott Rishikesh can be booked for 25000 Marriott Points, etc.

Reward Exclusion List

You do not earn any Points for the following:

  • Fuel purchases.
  • Digital wallets like Paytm.
  • Government payments like taxes or fines.
  • Rent payments and utility bills.
  • Cash withdrawals.
  • EMI transactions.
  • Other charges like interest charges, late payment fees, and other bank-imposed charges.

Pro Tips: You can maximize your rewards when you use your card for daily spending like dining, shopping, and travel. Instead of paying ₹10,000 in rent directly (which won’t earn points), buy an Amazon Pay gift card via SmartBuy or GyFTR and use it for rent or bills. This way, you earn 3 to 5 times more points while covering expenses you’d pay anyway. For example, a ₹10,000 gift card purchase could earn you 800+  instead of 0 Marriott Bonvoy Points, boosting your rewards easily!
